lights at Easter Vigil?
Anyone have lights up before the Exsultet at their Easter Vigil?
The Sacramentary says that’s how it’s supposed to be, but I’ve never heard of this being done...
Two Catholic liturgical musicians musing on the state of affairs in contemporary Catholic church music, and/or whatever else comes to mind.

We (St. Anselm's in Ross, CA) lit the church up with candles: everybody held a candle and we lit them from the Easter candle after it was blessed and lit. The church was lit by candlelight during the Exsultet. It was quite effective.
The Korean parish in my area have the lights up for the Exsultet. So that is how it's supposed to be done. The liturgy of the word is done with the lights on. I thought it was odd that they actually did it that way, but I guess it is the RIGHT way!
