“Long live the Pope”
Anyone know this hymn?
I mean, I like B16, but I’m not sure “his rule is over space and time”. :)
The tune itself is kinda funny, kind of a musical caricature of ....something - the whole thing just makes me laugh.

I do. I've put it as the last thing in my hymnal as a gag. It's quite over the top, yes, but rather a lot of fun. It's well-regarded for the same reasons by the good folk at the Shrine of the Holy Whapping.
We also sang it after the 5 PM (Sunday) at St. John's the weekend after Papa Benny was elected.
